ABOUT

Alanna Cavanagh is an illustrator, printmaker, and surface designer based in Toronto.

Design writer Eric Mutrie described Alanna as an artist who combines “a storybook illustrator’s sense of whimsy with a fashion designer’s sense of style”. Her “Paris in the 50s’” sensibility is influenced by mid century illustrators such as Miroslav Sasek and Andy Warhol while her passion for contemporary fashion and interior design also contributes to the style and mood of her work. She’s created work for a long list of International clients including The New York Times, Chronicle Books, The Four Season Hotel, Tattly, One Kings Lane, Penguin Books, Crane stationary, Real Simple magazine, Bon Appetit and Papyrus. Her silkscreen prints have been featured in numerous magazines and design blogs including Apartment Therapy, Canadian House + Home, The Globe and Mail, Covet Garden, Style Files Amsterdam and Design Traveller Oslo.

Her work also appears in two books: Impressive: Printmaking, Letterpress and Graphic Design published by Gesalten in Germany and Imagemakers  published by Beazley Press in the U.K.
